We connect families with doulas, midwives, educators, and advocates who honor the sacred process of birth and believe every person deserves informed choices and respectful care.

CPM Reimbursement
Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) provide essential, community-based maternity care—often in homes or birth centers—for healthy, low-risk pregnancies. Despite their valuable role, CPMs in South Dakota currently face barriers to fair reimbursement through insurance and Medicaid. At SD Birth Matters, we advocate for equitable compensation for CPMs, so families can access safe, personalized birth care without financial hardship, and midwives can sustainably serve their communities.
